You cry, I laugh

When Kate is really crying, if you blow a puff of air on her face, she stops crying for just an instant. Puckers up her lips and lifts her chin. I think it is so funny. It doesn't seem to upset her any more than she already is. But it doesn't create a long term solution, either. Still very funny, though.

Maybe she's trying to learn to blow a puff of air back onto your face!

Seriously sad to see her cry like that! Awww. It's a cute cry, though.

I'm not sure what reflex it is when babies do this but I think all babies do it if you blow in their faces. Emma still does it, at six months. She pulls back really quickly, purses her lips and her tongue pushes out a bit.

I'm not sure what it's for (or if it's just tough for them to breathe with air on their face so they hold their breath) but I know that they do that in baby swimming lessons to get them to hold their breath and become acclimated to being under water.

I check back here often and so enjoy your updates! Kate is so cute.

That's funny, I'm going to have to try that. WHY didn't I read this 20 minutes ago when Owen was crazy upset!
