Snow Day!
Today Doug and I had a snow day, due to the icy roads and 3 inches of snow we received. Kate and I got all bundled up, and headed out into the white stuff. We played the 'mittens on mittens off game.' I think if she had more dexterity with them on, they would have been on the whole time. Pretty much the only reason she wanted to go inside was because her hands were so cold.
For a while we were in the front of the house, and I was wiping snow off my car. Kate wanted to do the same thing with her car. She then proceded to the swing set, brushed off the swing, and went for a spin.

Lady Bug
Kate is going to be a lady bug for Halloween. She looks even cuter, when it's not over her Mariner Moose shirt and Pooh Bear shorts (I know, what a combo!) Hopefully I'll get even better pictures this weekend. A smile compromise for the camera.
Me catching her running back to the picture to look at the picture. A genuine smile!

And now a little lady bug story. Normally Kate is asleep when we leave for work in the morning. But when I was in the shower this morning she woke up all upset. Doug went in, and couldn't at first figure out what she wanted. Pacifier, check. Blankies, check. Finally, he asked, "Are you saying, 'Wings?' " Kate, "Yeah . . . I want my wings. I want my wings." Doug convinced her that she should go back to sleep, and then she could wear her costume when she wakes up. How cute!

Trip to Whidbey Island
Earlier in the month, we walked onto the Whidbey Island ferry to visit some of Doug's friends. Kate loves riding the ferry; running around on the deck and keeping her face to the wind. Fun at the beach, just past the ferry dock.
Most of the time she ran in the water parallel to the water. But once she decided to run straight in. Lost her footing, and I had to run in after her to keep her from drowning. She was mostly just surprised that she got all wet. Fortunately, SHE had a change of clothes. Unlike her mother who spent the rest of the afternoon with wet jeans.
