You know you're . . .

a product of the Pacific North West when . . .

You are a 3 year old, looking out the window at the clouds in the sky. And you say, "There's a cloud missing."

Other people might mention that the blue sky is peaking through. But it is equally correct to observe that a cloud is missing. I guess. ;)

Lil Dude

He's becoming more animated by the day.

More Oregon fun

Doug and I as we are heading out the door for the reunion. Thanks so much, Mom & Dad, for watching the kids while we went out and played.
Kate, sleeping on her "special bed". Also known to adults as a very sketchy cot circa 1970.
What is probably a standard issue tourist picture at the Cheese Factory. We got a couple of super yummy varieties that you just can't get at stores. Garlic Red Pepper and White Sharp Cheddar with Pepper. And of course, squeaky cheese.
Kate and Saul coloring. They are so fun to watch play together.

Trip to Oregon

We went to Oregon for my 20 year high school reunion. It was a long drive down and an even longer drive home, but in the middle we had a great time.

Here, Kate is drawing me pictures.
Max, bundled up to experience the greatness that is Oceanside.
Kate, in the wind, COLD water, and swim suit. Tossing rocks. Making her mother worried that it would suddenly get much deeper and that I'd end up being very wet after rescuing her. Fortunately, that did not happen. ;)

Mostly Max

Max doesn't have a lot of tolerance for lying on the floor, but he looks so cute wiggling around.
This was his first official "tummy time". He did a good few minutes before telling me he was done.
Kate was really happy to be decorating Max's swing with the little animal toys that she got from her cousin Syd. They have magnets in the feet. I was happy to accidentally knock them off onto the floor when Kate was in another room. Somehow they just seem like choking hazards.
I don't know which cousin this shirt started with, but I LOVE it.

Picnic food

We were at the Sunday picnic portion of Doug's 25 year high school reunion yesterday. They had purple cupcakes, which Kate thoroughly enjoyed.

Super Why

Kate LOVES "Super Why" on PBS, and I think it's my favorite, too. At the end she sings along with the closing song. Usually at that point of the morning, she's removed her jammies and is just in her underwear, so this video was a long time in the making. However, she wasn't quite as animated as usual because she knew I was filming. Still, it was close to a great performance.

Kate and Max

No, the blocks did not fall on his head.

Smiles

Hey, Kate, smile for Mommy!

Max's first Mariner game

He did pretty well. Would have been nicer if he slept more, but he was a trooper!

Just Chillin'

Coos, smiles and laughs

Max has become more vocal in the past week, with coos and little chuckles. The video catches some of these sounds, but of course, the best occurred right after I turned the video off.

Like father, like son
