Trip to Whidbey Island

Earlier in the month, we walked onto the Whidbey Island ferry to visit some of Doug's friends. Kate loves riding the ferry; running around on the deck and keeping her face to the wind. Fun at the beach, just past the ferry dock.
Most of the time she ran in the water parallel to the water. But once she decided to run straight in. Lost her footing, and I had to run in after her to keep her from drowning. She was mostly just surprised that she got all wet. Fortunately, SHE had a change of clothes. Unlike her mother who spent the rest of the afternoon with wet jeans.

And the, she passed out on the couch when we got home.

So tired . . .

She's even sleeping with her shoes on!

Henry's Quilt

My nephew Henry FINALLY gets his quilt! His bedroom is a space theme, so when I found TWO different space monkey fabrics, I knew we were in business.

Final note: most of the baby quilts I've made have been grounded in blues and greens. Even when I knew the gender of the baby. So when I went to the store, I thought to myself: Branch out. Try something new. Don't get blue and green. Ha ha. You can see how well THAT worked out.

Fullers 2010

At the end of July, the Fullers came to visit - with a highlight being a trip to the Woodland Park Zoo.
They were feeding the Giraffes, so we got to see them up close!

Hey, it was the best I could do!

Zach and Syd were GREAT with Kate. Reading books was a big hit.

More of Summer 2010

Ready to roll. Back pack. Hat. Puzzle pieces in a baggie. Flower. Shoes. Oh, and all the necklaces and an graham cracker.

Playing in the water with one of the neighbor girls.

Zonked.

Smelling the roses.

Stretching the caterpillar with post-bath hair.

Which reminds me . . . something that will ALWAYS be funny. Fart bubbles in the bathtub.
AND . . . babies in laundry baskets.

Chillin' in Grandma's room.

Chillin' with dad.

Dominos + cute

Kate 'helped' Suzi play dominos. But then was really tired a few days later.

Just a sweet, cute smile.

A wee bit o catch up

Ack - has it really been so long since I last posted? I thought I would be so much better at this during the summer months. Oh well. Here's a random assortment of pictures and posts.

Suzi, Abigail, and Beatrix visited Mid-July. One of the many points of fun: the Seattle Children's Museum.

At home, working the chalk-art skills.

Putting pens in the holes of the bath chair. A good 30 minutes of entertainment!
