Meeting Henry

I actually got to meet Henry last weekend. And since then, he's come home from the hospital. But here are a couple of my favorite pictures from when I visited.

Naked Baby

Here's the most recent routine Kate has been into. I go to change her diaper in the evening.. She tells me she has to go potty. And it's time to change into jammies, so we have the rest of her clothes off, too. So she goes into the bathroom. Doesn't go potty. And then wants to run around the house naked. Will fight, wiggle, squirm, and yell, "No, no, No!" if I try to put a diaper or clothes on her. So here are some cute picutres of the baby running around naked.

It, however, ceases being fun for Mommy when the following happens. Kate 'disappeared' for a while, and then came back to where I was sitting on the couch. I picked her up only to realize that she was messy. As in, had gone poo somewhere in the house, and had residual poo left on her bottom. Which conveniently wiped off on me and the blanket I was using.
As I took her to her room to finish cleaning up, put on a diaper (which she still fought) and her jammies, Doug found the location of the rest of the poo. It was actually in the bathroom. Just on the bath rug, not in her little potty seat.
All in all, I actually find this funny. But there will not be any more naked baby running around for a while.

Hangin' with Owen

I'm watching Owen this afternoon while Marla and Lucas are at the hospital. He took a good nap, and I found a surprise in his pants when I went to change his diaper. No, not poop. And not other things you would expect in a boy's pants. It was a toy from Munchkin Playland, where we visited this morning. So funny.

Here is the toy playing with penquin.

And then getting a hug from penquin.

Curly hair

Kate's hair was soooooo curly after her last bath. Tried to capture it in these pictures . . . you might have to use a little imagination!

Oranges

Kate loves the satsuma oranges. Out of nowhere will ask for them. "Oranges? More oranges?"

So we'll go to the fridge and she'll pick two out. She'll stuff her mouth with them as fast as I can peel them. But we do have to ration her orange intake, much to her dismay. Me, "All done, no more today." Kate, "More? More oranges? More?"

Hair Clip

Most of the time when Kate finds one of my hair clips, she just carries it to me, saying, "Mama. Mama." This time, she really wanted to wear it. While we could make it stay in her hair, I also think it was a reminder that she still has a lot of hair left to grow.

Gabby & Kate video - redo

>

Perhaps these videos will actually play to people other than myself! Sorry for the dark viewing quality . . .

Kate and Gabby

One of the rules we have it that when kitties are taking sanctuary on the bed, Kate cannot get on the bed and play.  She's pretty cool about it.  Yesterday, Gabby was close enough to the edge that Kate was able to share some of her love.
Now you can see from this picture just how thrilled Gabby is.  Kate, however, has moved on to playing with the clock.  If she presses just the right combination of buttons, music will play!
Someday, Bloger will stop being annoying, and I'll be able to post a cute video of Kate petty and kissing Gabby.  Someday.

Blankie Head

One of Kate's new things it to cover her head with a blanket and then walk around without being able to see anything but her feet.  It's quite fun for all involved.  She gets some sort of thrill rush. We laugh at her!

And now, a self-portrait . . .

Just Looking Cute (repost)

"Talking" on Grandma's cell phone

Whoopsie

I just posted 3 blog entries about Kate on the "Look What I Cooked" blog.  I'll transfer or re-do them at some point, but too tired tonight.  So, to enjoy pictures of the little one, click on the "Look What I Cooked" link at right. Maybe you'll find a good recipe or two, also!

Shoes to fill . . .

20-month self-portrait

We did our self-portrait one day late.  Yesterday Doug and I took a class on web-page design and got home later than usual.  I was tired, just wanted to spend time with Kate and eat dinner.  Forgot about the pictures.  Probably not the last time.

However, the sun was out today, so we got nice picture.  Here is Kate checking out her cheeks.
Yea!  Will you let me look at the picture in the camera?
I'm happy, happy, happy.
