Halloween 2009

Pumpkin carving today! After being invited to stick her hand in and help clean out the pumpkin, the first thing Kate did was pick up some errant seeds and guts and put them in her mouth. Apparently, unroasted seeds taste good to this 18 month old, as they did not re-appear on the counter. Kate didn't pull out all that much, but she did give it a couple of goes.

"Hey, this pumpkin looks like the pumpkin I am wearing." I'm not sure whether she thought that was cool, or whether she caught on to the fact her mommy wasn't very creative in the design. Her daddy did an excellent job carving, though.

My two pumpkins.

Outdoor help

(I have no idea why the pictures decided to upload is this new fashion. . .)

Kate and I worked outdoors in the brisk fall air. She was happy to be sporting her Mariner gear, though I think it was the last day for the sweatshirt (too small).

We played a game called "put leaves in the bucket." She really got into it. I imagine that 'mommy-trick' will be used often.

Monkey!

All of Kate's 18 mo. winter-weight jammies were in the wash, so I pulled out one of her 2T sleepers. The monkey on it is a big hit. I say "Monkey", she says "Eee-eee".

Flannel sheets

Kate LOVES her flannel receiving blankets. She has them stashed throughout the house. In fact, they seem to multiply. So when we put the flannel sheets on our bed, Kate was thrilled. And confused. When we were done playing on the bed, she got really upset that she couldn't take our sheets with her. She loves playing on our bed.

Pumpkin Fest

Kate and I went to the pumpkin patch (aka Albertson's) today. I got ther the pumpkin sweat pant outfit so that she could wear it all month long. It's fun going out in public with her dressed up, because it makes people smile! The only disadvantage: there are many more people that usual who refer to her as a boy. When you ask Kate where the pumpkin is, she points to her shirt. My Pumpkin wearing a pumpkin.

There is so much to see here, Mommy. Can I run into the parking lot while you take a picture?

Back at home with my milk. And a paint brush. Mommy doesn't know WHERE I found it.

More weekend pictures.

I love my ducky slippers. Hmm. . . I'm thinking I want a cracker.

Look at my toy!

I picked a yellow flower for you.

Oh, there are so many yellow flowers. Too bad mommy mowed them later in the day.

Looking cool in her weekend ware.

She likes wearing her sunglasses (for a few seconds at a time) And singing to daddy's energy drink.
Mom should have cropped this picture!
I'll share the drink with my friend Moose.

16-month Self-Portrait

Today we decided to do the family portrait version of the self-portrait. Perhaps there is a future Christmas card picture in here somewhere. . .
